DDIntel - Celebrating Women in the Workplace and Beyond
By DataDrivenInvestor • Issue #31 • View online
This issue of DDIntel is dedicated to all of the amazing women out there. On Tuesday, international women’s day was devoted to celebrating the amazing work women do every day to keep the world turning.
At DataDrivenInvestor, we want to honor women’s work in shaping technology, finance, and beyond. As we speak, women are shaping and directing policy in some of the world’s largest institutions on the planet, paving the way for future generations of aspiring leaders.
Thematically, and statistically, women are proven to be better leaders due to their more sympathetic approach to workplace engagements with a lesser focus on economics. Several studies have shown that women are more suitable leaders than their male counterparts. Thus, women will and do play a critical role in the future of humankind, especially when we talk about major issues, facing the globe, such as climate change.
Young women leaders like Greta Thunberg have shed a powerful light on how influential women can be when tackling some of the earth’s trickiest problems. Likewise, it is no surprise during the Covid-19 pandemic that women leaders, such as Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister of Scotland, and Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister of New Zealand have been far more effective at tackling the pandemic than their male equivalents.
Likewise, today, women work hard to feed their families and put food on the table, shaping the next generation. Similarly, we also want to highlight women’s role in the Ukraine Russian war.
Every day, women fight to protect their country from the Russian invasion. Whether that be protecting their children at home or on the front lines, we take our hat off to you. This issue of DDIntel is dedicated to every brave woman out there who’s making a difference in the world.

Now, it is starting to climb with the Ukrainian government accepting Bitcoin donations. But will the coin prevail? Will it see all-time highs during a time of war? We will have to wait and see. Although a slight tongue-in-cheek read, this article gives a brilliant account of what data is and why it is important in all of its lifecycles. Make sure to check it out.

How To Correct Sampling Bias. Do you have a sample that is not… | by Arthur Mello | Mar, 2022 | DataDrivenInvestor
Sampling bias is a social scientist’s nightmare. In the realm of social science, academics often take samples of a population to observe naturally occurring phenomena. For example, academics may analyze why certain people have voted a certain way in an election. In this instance, academics will take a small population sample and ask them why they voted the way they did. There is often a sample bias due to our natural biases when taking a sample. Although near impossible to stop, these biases can dramatically impact the results of a study. Despite this, there are ways of correcting this sample bias.

As covered in previous issues of DDIntel, war is a cruel act of political aggression used by leaders to assert authority geopolitically. We have not seen war on the European continent for nearly one hundred years. Putin is using this war to establish his sphere of influence and kick the west out of his backyard. The consequence? A war killing innocents. Now the central banks must decide how to act in the face of the Russia Ukraine war.
