DDIntel - The Age of Sustainable Entrepreneurship
By DataDrivenInvestor • Issue #50 • View online

Even if it appears that the world has gone insane and that everything is falling apart, there are many things that are going in the right direction.
One of these things is the Green Revolution, which aims to create a sustainable world where everyone, from corporations to ordinary people, cares about the environment. This is the world we all want to live in, and the world we want for our children.
If you’re wondering how this Green Era will become a reality, look no further than the people who are always pushing things forward: entrepreneurs.
Startups and innovative people are developing the technology as well as the societal and psychological changes required to transform both the physical and internal worlds of each individual toward a more sustainable and better world. That is why all entrepreneurs must be aware of the emerging Green Era and what it requires of them in order to win the hearts of the people and our planet.
In this week’s DDIntel, we will cover some of our community’s best work around entrepreneurship, the Green Era, leadership, societal fairness, and much more!
Spotlight: The “Green Transition”
A Lottery Ticket to the “Green World”: A Deeper Look into the “Green Transition” | DataDrivenInvestor
The green era is now emerging worldwide. Fossil fuels are currently disliked by a large number of ordinary and famous people in the West. Given the current situation between Ukraine and Russia, which does not appear to end any time soon, Europe and the United States will undoubtedly push as hard as they can to expand their Renewable Energy sources. Global green energy investments are expected to increase by more than 8% in 2022, reaching $2.4 trillion. This trend will only increase in the near future, as we need to drastically reduce CO2 emissions in order to combat global warming.
Consumption reduction is another trend strongly linked to the “Green Revolution.” People are becoming more conscious of the need to reduce the amount of waste they generate. This is because of both environmental and financial concerns, as people around the world become more educated. However, a common question that most middle-class people have is, “Why should I reduce my consumption when the wealthy are not?” This is a very reasonable question to pose, especially given the world’s growing disparity in material well-being.
This Green Revolution raises plenty of ethical, socioeconomic, scientific, and technological concerns. We need to implement policies worldwide that aim to reduce the motivations that are prevalent in today’s consumer society, while proportionally increasing the financial contribution of the richest people - to reduce the wealth gap. We need to also support innovations outside the Big Tech sector so that we can create the green planet most of us wish for.
In this week’s spotlight article you will get a very detailed overview of what we need to look at to help the Greentech industry, what challenges we may face, and what history can teach us.
